Position: The village of Sixt Fer à Cheval is about 800 yards away with basic shops, several bars and good restaurants. Tennis courts and a good swimming pool are at Samoens, about three miles away; a busy little town with plenty of restaurants and shops and a market on Wednesdays. There is a wealth of walks and hikes to suit both the energetic and the lethargic, many starting close to the chalet such as the magnificent Fer à Cheval. Annecy, Geneva and Chamonix are all within about an hour’s drive. The chalet is set in a peaceful clearing in the trees, with its own private garden with sunny terrace and balcony, garden furniture and barbecue.
Accommodation:
Steps lead up to the entrance into the cosy living room with armchairs and sofa round its wood burning stove, table and chairs and French windows to the south facing balcony. At one end, behind a breakfast bar, is the kitchen with gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. On this level is a double bedroom and en suite shower room with wash basin and wc as well as a separate second shower room with wash basin and wc. Up very steep steps are two bedrooms under the eaves (watch your head in the doorways!), a double and a twin. Outside access via less steep steps. Under the chalet is a large storeroom with washing machine, tumble dryer and second fridge. Cot. Bed linen included.
