Concarneau Concarneau is an ancient fishing port with a fortified Old Town an island in the harbour, its narrow streets full of fascinating shops, galleries and restaurant, and fine sandy beaches on both sides, La Baie de la Forêt to the west, and to the south-east, Cabellou, Pouldohan and Pendruc. Further east is the fishing village of Trévignon, and beyond, the lovely beaches of Kersidan, Rospico, Raguènes and Port Manech, at the mouth of the Aven. This beautiful river flows down from Pont Aven, with its many art galleries, shops and restaurants.
