Position: Just over a mile from the village of St Georges-de-Monclar for every day shopping, eight miles from Vergt for shops and Friday market and a similar distance to Bergerac. Ideally situated for exploring the vineyards of Bergerac and Bordeaux, and the Dordogne valley with the watersports centre of Tremolat a short drive away. Fishing, riding and tennis also available nearby. La Vernelle is a large country estate of over 300 acres of meadows and woodland. There is a very large swimming pool (16x8m) shared with two or three other holiday cottages which is heated before 24/05 and after 20/9 and a shared leisure room with pool table, gym equipment and a jacuzzi (small extra charge in July/August) Peacefully situated on the edge of the woods, Le Pigeonnier is just a short walk away.

Built in 2003 on five 18th century stone pillars using traditional materials and methods of construction, this unusual property provides the perfect holiday base for a couple, from which to explore the Dordogne. Underneath the pigeonnier is a terrace of old stone with garden furniture. and barbecue. A wooden staircase leads up to the well appointed accommodation which has the feel of a tree house. On the lower level is the living room with armchair, sofa and single bed/sofa, TV, dining table and chairs, well equipped kitchen corner with gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and washing machine. A spiral staircase leads up to a double bedroom under the eaves and a small bathroom with bath, basin and wc. Bed linen and towels included.
